March 1, 2010:

Back home from the show weekend in Zagreb with great success: Our Ula (Champ. Family Song's ULA) participated the Toy Breed Club Specialty as well as the double CACIB show. On all three days she won her class and not only this ... with her win on Friday at the Club Specialty she had all necessary prospectives for the title Croatian Beauty Champion. The detailled results are found in the site Ula's Show results.

Wish and aim of this weekend was to achieve the last Croatian CAC, Ula obtained even more. After all the nice success since 2006 and with four Championships Ula has deserved to say goodbye to the show ring and will now only be a "couch potatoe". She will like it!

Now it's the turn of the younger ones and we hope that they - at least partly - reach the success of Ula respectively step into her paw prints.

February 28, 2010:

A candle has been lit for our Samson (UGO de la Morne Plaine) ...... it's his birthday today. We send our thoughts to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

February 21, 2010:

Today our puppies are 6 weeks old and yesterday some new pictures have been taken, as always to be found in the Photo Gallery (Jaris' Puppies).

Yesterday evening some pictures of our puppies have been taken and the good ones can now be seen in our Photo Gallery (Jaris' Puppies).

Our Ula (Champ. Family Song's ULA) celebrates her 5^th Birthday today. The most heartfelt Happy Birthday wishes to our beautiful girl. We will make this day most wonderful for you.

Our Puppies are already three and a half weeks old and since the weekend there is  more and more movement in the whelping box. Today was some time to take pics of the little rascals. They can now be seen in the Photo Gallery (Jaris' Puppies). Have fun!

We celebrate the next birthday: Today our Chinese Crested girl Jaris is 2 years old. A heartfelt Happy Birthday to the young mother of our latest litter (M litter - born exactly 2 weeks ago).

We are mighty proud of the little girl about how wonderful she manages everything around her six offspring. Of course she will be spoiled very much today.

January 23, 2010:

Today we celebrate another birthday ...... a birthday which means very much for us: Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) is 12 years today. After all the nerve wracking time in October and November 2009, we are very happy that after the major tumor surgery in November 2009 this wonderful girl is as happy, funny and full of the joys of life as she always was.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear Oh-Lala. We are grateful that you own us, we are grateful for all the years with you, and we wish you many more healthy years with us.

January 18, 2010:

Jaris' puppies have been one week old yesterday and today pictures have been taken, which can now be seen in the Photo Gallery (Jaris' Puppies).

January 14, 2010:

The puppies from Jaris and Steel (Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY) were born on January 10:

2 males (powderpuff) and 4 females (2 hairless, 2 powderpuff). All are doing fine and they nicely gain weight daily. We all congratulate Jaris to these great puppies!

A candle has been lit for our very first Briard: Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg), the one who brought the Briard mania to this house, the one who was the reason for founding the kennel de la Maison du Garde-Barrière. It's the day of his death ...... we send loving thoughts to him to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge ...... to him and all our other darlings that join him.

January 10, 2010:

The next birthday: the L litter of our kennel Caipirinha's is one year old today. A heartfelt Happy Birthday to Lee Marvin, Liza Minelli, Lorenzo Lamas, Lionel Richie, LaToya Liberty and LeeRoy Loomes.

January 9, 2010:

Today we have the first birthday celebration of this year: our Chinese Crested girl Naomi is three years old. A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our funny, happy and smart girl. She can be sure to get lots of treats, hugs, pads and kisses today.

It's so wonderful to be owned by this sweatheart!

January 7, 2010:

Last night we received very sad news from the USA: Only a few months after the loss of their beloved Raven (ELYSÉE NOIRE de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), Deb and Charlie had to walk a most stony lane yesterdy morning, to open their arms and let Raven's brother Shadow (EL NINJO NOIR de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) go over the Rainbow Bridge. Once again another wonderful Briard from this kennel had to leave his loving home much too early. A candle has been lit for Shadow ...... and his littermates, half-sibling, parents and friends.

This loss is as hard for us as it is for Deb and Charlie. We know their grief and pain too good, we feel what they feel: we still have not really come over the loss of Whoopy (EXCUSE-MOI WHOOPY de la Maison du Garde-Barrière - litter mate of Raven and Shadow) and Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) last year within only two months. And we still don't know how things will continue with our Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) after her major tumor surgery in November.

Deb and Charlie, please know that our thoughts are with you. And let us once more express that we are grateful that these two kids from here had a most wonderful home, a home that we would wish for all our offspring. Thanks that you decided to give Raven and Shadow a loving home, thanks that you made their lifes so very beautiful, thanks for the trust in this kennel, thanks for having taken the effort to meet Yazoo and myself at the Briard Specialty in 2000, to show me how wonderful the two kids had matured, and thanks for your friendship - even though we are so far apart.

If anyone has some words of comfort for Deb and Charlie, you can leave them in the Guestbook and we will forward them.

In April 2010 another kennel enrichment will come here: Sterling (Champ. Daretobebares STERLING SILVER). We are grateful that Kiko agreed that this beautiful girl can live with us. THANKS SO MUCH Kiko!!! She will have a great and forever loving home with all our other furry and more or less not furry family members.
