December 24, 2009:

Today we celebrate again Birthday: Our F litter is 9 years old. A very Happy Birthday to these wonderful offspring of Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC). For two of that litter we have lit a candle because they have already gone over the Rainbow Bridge: Ferri (FOUDRE FERRARI NOIR de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) and Ferre (FERRE FUEGO NOIR de la Maison du Garde-Barrière).

December 23, 2009:

Shortly before the change of year it turned out that we are going to have a new family member in April 2010: Keanu, a three years old stud from the USA. His flight has already been booked, now it's only the weeks that have to pass by fast till he arrives here. We have big hopes that Keanu (Champ. Whisperingln' THE DEVILS ADVOCATE) is a great kennel enrichment. In the next day some photos shall come which will then find their place here in the homepage.

A heartfelt thank you to Mark and Carol for the trust that Keanu can come and will have his new home here. We are incredibly pleased about him.

November 23, 2009:

Back home from a show weekend in Croatia: Ula (Champ. Family Song's ULA) and our American guest Steel (Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY) have been shown at the two days international show in Zagreb. See the results in the sites Ula's Show results and Steel's Show results.

Now the show season 2009 is over for us and we are going to have a rest from long distance trips and enjoy the time at home.

November 19, 2009:

Nerve-racking weeks are behind us ...... and probably ahead of us too:

On October 21, our Oh-Lala (Sél. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille) had to be operated on an ear because of a haematoma. At the occasion of the check prior to the surgery a fast growing mamma tumor was diagnosted. Because of her age and the fear that metastasis would grow rapidly we decided against a surgery of the tumor.

The ear surgery went fine and everything healed perfectly and fast. Oh-Lala is a patient patient and never ever a dog here got along with the neck brace as good as she did.

We got Oh-Lala's sums wrong. As soon as the neck brace was gone she started licking the tumor, and the effect can be imagined. Late in the evening of November 10, we were off to the vet clinic again. The check result: either putting her down or operation ...... what a bad news! As Oh-Lala was happy and full of joie de vie, we could never have killed her and so we had her operated. Already in the night to November 11, the surgery took place, the lung x-ray prior to the operation showed no metastasis (micro metastasis could of course not be precluded). In the morning we were informed that Oh-Lala is doing fine and had already eaten. If things continued that way we would get her home on November 12, and it happened like that. I met a happily walking around Oh-Lala.

The healing of the big scar also went fast and without problems. Today the stitches have been removed (more than 50 - the mammary line on the side of the tumor had been removed completely). Now we hope that we are going to have our girl for quite more time. She is now being treated with tarantula poison injections, which shall hold back the fast growing of probably extant tumors and shall also hinder the growing of new tumors. Oh-Lala deserves this chance in any way. Have fingers crossed please ...... we have already lost two of our darlings in the past half year and are actually at the end of the bearable.

We thank all our friends and acquaintances for having sent encouraging words concerning this matter, and a heartfelt thank you to the owner of Ferre (who unfortunately also passed this year) for the generous donation which he has sent for Oh-Lala.

Our little princess, the tiny girl with the lionheart, the Champion of our hearts, celebrates her 11^th birthday today. A very happy birthday to Gizmo (JESMINA-GIZMO Kasiterit). We are proud and happy that a girl like you joins us and brings happiness to this house each and every day. May you have many more healthy years among us.

We celebrate birthday today: Our guest from America - Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY - is five years of age. The most heartfelt congratulation, dear Steel. We spoil you extremely today and will make you this day most wonderful.

A candle has been lit again ...... for a wonderful girl ...... Arwa (Arwa Betkin dvor) the mother of our B litter would have birthday today. Our thoughts are with her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, and also with her family members and friends who join her there.

October 19, 2009:

Some of our Chinese Crested had important health checks today. All details in our site Breeding Issues. Anyway, our little Jaris has now done her last step towards the breeding confirmation and is now fully confirmed for breeding in Austria.

October 4, 2009:

After a break of some month our powderpuff Chinese Crested girl Jaris was back in the show ring at the County Winner Show in Tulln/A today. She was very successful: Exc. 1 CACA.

This was the second last step towards Jaris' Austrian breeding confirmation; concerning show results she has passed. Of course we are very proud of our little girl, which right now changes her color from black to silver.

October 4, 2009:

Time for another birthday celebration: Batida de Coco de la Maison du Garde-Barrière (the first grey - born black Briard of Austrian breeding history) is 12 years old. She was our B litter, the single puppy.

A very Happy Birthday to Batida. We know you are spoiled today, and we are grateful that this girl has such a wonderful loving home. Thanks to Sylvia and Rudi! Of course we wish Batida some more healthy years in her family!

Once again a candle has been lit ...... it would be his birthday ...... Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg) ...... our first Briard, the reason for our "Briard Mania", the founder of the kennel de la Maison du Garde-Barrière. Our thoughts are with him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge ......
