In the year 1989 our first joint dog came into our house, a German Shepherd boy called Marko. He was 15 months of age when we bought him up from the Viennese Police Dog Department. He was sold because they said he had a weak character, but actually he was bad dysplastic and with a heavy heart we had to say good-bye to him at the age of 7,5 years and had to let him go over the Rainbow Bridge. Already with Marko we had the first Briard, whom several followed over the years.
This kennel has been founded in the year 1991 with the name de la Maison du Garde-Barrière (only Briards). 1994 we had the first litter which was followed by seven more until 2006. In the year 2006 we registered the name Caipirinha's for the breeds Briard and Chinese Crested. We don't breed for quantity, but for quality. From the beginning on our guiding principle was: Where the best of the past is combined with the excellence of the presence. Healthy, character strong, social and sturdy dogs are the aim of our breeding.
We had our Chinese Crested litters out of our girl Ula in January 2009, in January 2010 out of our girl Jaris, and in May 2011 again out of Ula. With the Briards we plan a litter with our own bred girl Champ. KAHLUA de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, called Courage.
