On his fourth birthday, Porsche had to be rushed to the veterinary clinic completely unexpectedly. He underwent emergency surgery the following day but succumbed to lung failure on May 18th. He will be cremated in early June so that he can join all the others who have already crossed the Rainbow Bridge in my memory corner.
This completely unexpected death of a much too young, locally bred male dog has made the dark hole I've been in since his father's death even deeper and darker. I won't be able to escape this hole for a long time. Rest in peace, my darling, I will never forget you and will always carry you in my heart.
On June 5th, Porsche was cremated in the morning, and in the evening I brought his urn home. A pendant containing his ashes now hangs from my rearview mirror in the car.
