September 25, 2026:

It's unbelievable that it's already been 26 years since my Arwa Z. (ARWA Zevar CS, SchH 1) passed away. She was the beginning of my Briard breeding program. Until the very end, she was probably grateful that I rescued her at the age of four and a half from her first owner, who wanted to have her euthanized because she wasn't bringing the breeding success she had hoped for. Always loving, never dominant towards other dogs, always protectively by my side. I'm grateful to her for the wonderful way she raised her puppies and for allowing me to be a part of her life for more than seven years. She suffered greatly when Marko died. I'm not sure if she didn't die of a broken heart, because she was never sick in her life. Another candle was lit.

September 23, 2026:

Seven years ago, Voodoo (Champ. Family Song's VOODOO), my first Chinese Crested, passed away. He made it easy for me, one of the few who spared me the difficult trip to the vet: he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in his sleep. Thank you for the 14 years I was able to share your life with me, you sweet clown.

September 15, 2026:

The series of remembrance anniversaries continues: 31 years ago, I had to send Marko on his final journey in my arms, as he was suffering from severe hip dysplasia, even after surgery at the age of one and a half. I'm thinking of you, Marko. You were a wonderful, loyal, and reliable companion - for my other dogs and me. THANK YOU! Another candle was lit.

September 9, 2026:

Sterling (Champ. Daretobebares STERLING SILVER) passed away four years ago at the age of over 16. For more than two years, thanks to a special diet and excellent veterinary care, I was able to provide her with a wonderful, comfortable life despite her kidney failure. She showed me when it was time to let her go. Thank you for the wonderful years I was able to share with you, dear Sterling. Thank you for integrating so perfectly into the pack, even though you only joined me when you were over four years old. You are and will always remain unforgettable and have a permanent place in my heart.

My oldest dog, Memy (CIB Multi-Champ. INCREDIBLE ME von Shinbashi), enjoys sleeping most of the day. Well deserved at the age of fifteen and a half.

September 8, 2026:

Today, Dyoma's breeder, Liubov, sent a photo she received from the Ukrainian Kennel Union: Dyoma has finally been awarded the title of International Beauty Champion (FCI). Now they are waiting for the official confirmation and certificate.

August 30, 2026:

Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) has her birthday today. Happy birthday to him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. A candle has been lit.

August 23, 2026:

Sadly, it's more of a series of days filled with memories, as there's nothing else to report since no dog shows are being attended. Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noires, CGC) passed away 21 years ago; my soulmate fell ill for medically unexplained reasons and died the following day at the Veterinary Medicine Clinic in Vienna. I'll never forget how, after being admitted to the clinic, she walked along with a nurse, her tail wagging, as I called after her, "Be good, everything will be alright." I never would have thought that I would never see her alive again. Yazoo was a little daredevil; she always showed signs of illness too late. This time, it cost her her life. Even though so many years have passed, she's missed here as much as the first day, and tears come to my eyes whenever I think of her. ...... She was simply unique, a dog you only have only ONCE in a lifetime - if at all.

August 18, 2026:

Sweet, funny Mamacita (CIB Ch BALT LT EE LV FIN SK MN SLO SRB RO BIH RS GrCh SK RO SRB BIH JSRB Jamming’s MAMACITA) is 6 years old today. Happy birthday, my dear soul dog.

Fifteen years have passed since Batida (BATIDA de Coco de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) left her owners Sylvia and Rudi forever at the age of 14. She had a wonderful and fulfilling life, and I am incredibly grateful to them both for giving Batida such a great home. A candle was lit for her as well.

Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noires, CGC) has her birthday today. Happy birthday to her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. And of course, a candle is lit for her too.

July 19, 2026:

Another day of remembrance: 17 years ago, Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) was called to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge far too young – at only 7 years old – completely unexpectedly. I miss her so much, this wonderful, lovable dog. A candle was lit in her memory.

July 12, 2026:

My last Briard litter, the K-litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, was born 20 years ago. It was Zabou's (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) only litter, as she repeatedly failed to conceive due to mycoplasma, which she contracted during her first mating. It was all the more wonderful for me that it finally worked out once, and six beautiful puppies were raised. One female from this litter stayed with me – Courage (Kahlua de la Maison du Garde-Barrière).

July 9, 2026:

Dyoma (Ch HR/SK/BIH/RS/SRB/ROM/HU GrCh BIH/SRB/ROM/SK Magic of Success DIAMOND) is celebrating his 5^th birthday today. Happy birthday, little man! You're sure to be thoroughly spoiled today.

Eight years ago today, Steel (Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY, AOM) received his angel wings when he was unexpectedly taken from us. As every year, a candle burns for him again today.

July 1, 2026:

It has been 20 years since Apollo (APOLLO de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I lit a candle for him.

Today there was a nice surprise in the mailbox: the certificate of Beauty Champion Croatia from Dyoma (Ch HR/SK/BIH/RS/SRB/ROM/HU GrCh BIH/SRB/ROM/SK Magic of Success DIAMOND).

June 7, 2026:

Happy birthday to my sweet Sterling (Champ. Daretobebares STERLING SILVER) on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. She is missed as much as the first day, the dear little soul.

Fifteen years ago, the Caipirinha's N Llitter was born. Heartiest congratulations to the other side of Rainbow Bridge to my own Maverick (CIB Multi-Champ. Caipirinha's NEED 4SPEED) and his siblings Needy (Caipirinha's NEEDLESS 2SAY) and Toulouse (Caipirinha's NOTHING 2LOSE) in Germany, and Tanner (Champ. Caipirinha's NUTBUSH CITY LIMIT) in Canada. Needy is still alive; unfortunately, I don't know about Toulouse and Tanner.

A month filled with so many memories. Twenty-one years ago, my first Chinese Crested was born, Voodoo (Champ. Family Song's VOODOO). I fondly remember him, that sweet, funny, bright, and sociable little rascal.

And another anniversary: It's the birthday of the Briard E Litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière. Happy birthday to the eight puppies of Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC) and Samson (UGO de la Morne Plaine) on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. They were born in 1999.

It's been eight years since Porsche (Caipirinha's PINK HOT PORSCHE) passed away after emergency surgery. A candle has been lit in his memory.

May 16, 2026:

Fifteen years ago, Whoopy (EXCUSE-MOI WHOOPY de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I lit a candle for her so she would know she was remembered.

May 15, 2026:

Today the P Litter celebrates its 12^th birthday. Happy Birthday to Prada (Caipirinha's PRADA PINK EDITION) and Pagani (Caipirinha's PAGANI 2HOT 2HANDLE) in Germany with my friend Anne. I hope they are both being thoroughly spoiled. I also send my best wishes across the Rainbow Bridge to Porsche (Caipirinha's PINK HOT PORSCHE), who sadly passed away at the young age of four. A candle has been lit for him.

May 7, 2026:

Today, Dyoma (Ch HR/SK/BIH/RS/SRB/ROM/HU GrCh BIH/SRB/ROM/SK Magic of Success DIAMOND) was awarded the title Croatian Beauty Champion.

May 5, 2026:

The Zadar dog show marathon is over.

From May 1^st to 4^th, four CACIB shows took place at the Zaton Holiday Resort – and two dogs participated with great enthusiasm! The results are more than impressive:

Dyoma (Ch SK/BIH/RS/SRB/ROM/HU GrCh BIH/SRB/ROM/SK Magic of Success DIAMOND): 4 x CAC, 4 x CACIB, ! 4 x BOSHe has now fulfilled all the requirements for the Croatian Beauty Champion title. I am incredibly proud of him! With the result on day 3 Dyoma fulfilled the requirements for the Croatian Beauty Champion title.

Show guest Rapunzel (Ch. SRB RAPUNZEL Winning Smile): 3 x CAC, 2 x CACIB, 1 x Very Good. Unfortunately, no CACIBs were awarded to the females on the last day. The little darling had bad luck on the second day: Just as she entered the ring, a brush fell from a grooming table and hit her on the back. Unsettled by this, she lacked the necessary confidence in the ring, which is why she only received a "Very Good" rating that day.

A very heartfelt thank you goes to the judges Peter Friedrich Berchtold (AT), Frode Jevne (NO), Perttu Ståhlberg (FI), and Nenad Devic (RS) for the excellent evaluations and kind words.

The weather was glorious, sunny, and with pleasant temperatures for the dogs. The organization and ring times were also top-notch. An absolute highlight: My over 15-year-old Memy (CIB Ch HU/BG/MD/PH/AZ ShowCh HU VetCh HU INCREDIBLE ME von Shinbashi) clearly enjoyed the beautiful weather and the walks. There was also a touching reunion with her former handler, Laszlo, who hadn't seen the "old lady" in ages.

It was a great joy to see dear friends like Claudia and Simone again after such a long time. We spent five wonderful days together, helping each other, laughing a lot, and eating fantastic food at the resort. Hopefully, we'll all see each other there again next year!

May 2, 2026:

It's been a year since my first powderpuff girl passed away: Jaris (HAPPY JARIS Dandy Mate) received her angel wings at the age of 17 years, 3 months, and 98 days. She was the mother of my Caipirinha's M litter. Throughout her life, she was healthy, always friendly, alert, and playful, very social, and never dominant towards other dogs - simply a sweet little angel. I miss her as much as I did on the first day.

On the same day in 2018, my soulmate Keanu (CIB Multi-Champ. Whisperingln' THE DEVILS ADVOCATE) crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He is one of those whose loss I still haven't gotten over and never will. I love all my dogs dearly, but there are a few very special ones who have left deep marks on my life and my heart. I'm thinking of you, beloved Keanu, and in my thoughts I'm giving you a big hug.

This year, Hippie (CIB Multi-Champ. from Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) is celebrating her birthday, unfortunately without me. Nevertheless, I am of course thinking of her and wish her all the very best.

April 29, 2026:

This morning, Dyoma (Multi-Champ. Magic of Success DIAMOND), dog show guest Rapunzel (Champ. RAPUNZEL Winning Smile) and Memy (CIB Multi-Champ. INCREDIBLE ME von Shinbashi) and I drove to Croatia. After about seven and a half hours, we arrived safely. As always when we're at the Zadar dog shows, we're staying in a mobile home at the Zaton Holiday Resort. Let's see what the next seven days bring – besides a relaxing time in a beautiful place.

April 22, 2026:

Today is Arwa Z.'s (ARWA Zevar CS, SchH 1) birthday... on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. You are unforgettable, sweet Arwa! Happy birthday!

January 21, 2026:

It has been eight years since Courage (Kahlua de la Maison du Garde-Barrière), at the age of twelve, had to be euthanized with the help of my trusted veterinarian due to the severe pain she experienced following a hip dislocation she suffered at one year old. I was with her from her first breath at birth until her last. It hurt to let the last Briard from my breeding program go. With that, the "de la Maison du Garde-Barrière" book closed forever. Courage, you will live on in my heart forever.

January 13, 2026:

Twenty-five years ago, my Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg) passed away peacefully in his sleep after midnight, following our last evening walk. I miss the pack leader as much as I did on the first day. The glow of a burning candle is meant to show him that I'm thinking of him.

January 10, 2026:

Today is the birthday of the L litter (from CIB Multi-Champ. Family Song's ULA) and the M litter (from HAPPY JARIS Dandy Mate x Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY, AOM). Happy birthday across the Rainbow Bridge to all 12 puppies from these two litters.
