September 25, 2026:
It's unbelievable that it's already been 26 years since my Arwa Z. (ARWA Zevar CS, SchH 1) passed away. She was the beginning of my Briard breeding program. Until the very end, she was probably grateful that I rescued her at the age of four and a half from her first owner, who wanted to have her euthanized because she wasn't bringing the breeding success she had hoped for. Always loving, never dominant towards other dogs, always protectively by my side. I'm grateful to her for the wonderful way she raised her puppies and for allowing me to be a part of her life for more than seven years. She suffered greatly when Marko died. I'm not sure if she didn't die of a broken heart, because she was never sick in her life. Another candle was lit.
September 23, 2026:
Seven years ago, Voodoo (Champ. Family Song's VOODOO), my first Chinese Crested, passed away. He made it easy for me, one of the few who spared me the difficult trip to the vet: he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in his sleep. Thank you for the 14 years I was able to share your life with me, you sweet clown.
September 15, 2026:
The series of remembrance anniversaries continues: 31 years ago, I had to send Marko on his final journey in my arms, as he was suffering from severe hip dysplasia, even after surgery at the age of one and a half. I'm thinking of you, Marko. You were a wonderful, loyal, and reliable companion - for my other dogs and me. THANK YOU! Another candle was lit.
September 9, 2026:
Sterling (Champ. Daretobebares STERLING SILVER) passed away four years ago at the age of over 16. For more than two years, thanks to a special diet and excellent veterinary care, I was able to provide her with a wonderful, comfortable life despite her kidney failure. She showed me when it was time to let her go. Thank you for the wonderful years I was able to share with you, dear Sterling. Thank you for integrating so perfectly into the pack, even though you only joined me when you were over four years old. You are and will always remain unforgettable and have a permanent place in my heart.
My oldest dog, Memy (CIB Multi-Champ. INCREDIBLE ME von Shinbashi), enjoys sleeping most of the day. Well deserved at the age of fifteen and a half.

Today, Dyoma's breeder, Liubov, sent a photo she received from the Ukrainian Kennel Union: Dyoma has finally been awarded the title of International Beauty Champion (FCI). Now they are waiting for the official confirmation and certificate.
August 30, 2026:
Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) has her birthday today. Happy birthday to him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. A candle has been lit.
August 23, 2026:
Sadly, it's more of a series of days filled with memories, as there's nothing else to report since no dog shows are being attended. Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noires, CGC) passed away 21 years ago; my soulmate fell ill for medically unexplained reasons and died the following day at the Veterinary Medicine Clinic in Vienna. I'll never forget how, after being admitted to the clinic, she walked along with a nurse, her tail wagging, as I called after her, "Be good, everything will be alright." I never would have thought that I would never see her alive again. Yazoo was a little daredevil; she always showed signs of illness too late. This time, it cost her her life. Even though so many years have passed, she's missed here as much as the first day, and tears come to my eyes whenever I think of her. ...... She was simply unique, a dog you only have only ONCE in a lifetime - if at all.

Sweet, funny Mamacita (CIB Ch BALT LT EE LV FIN SK MN SLO SRB RO BIH RS GrCh SK RO SRB BIH JSRB Jamming’s MAMACITA) is 6 years old today. Happy birthday, my dear soul dog.
Fifteen years have passed since Batida (BATIDA de Coco de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) left her owners Sylvia and Rudi forever at the age of 14. She had a wonderful and fulfilling life, and I am incredibly grateful to them both for giving Batida such a great home. A candle was lit for her as well.

Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noires, CGC) has her birthday today. Happy birthday to her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. And of course, a candle is lit for her too.

Another day of remembrance: 17 years ago, Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) was called to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge far too young – at only 7 years old – completely unexpectedly. I miss her so much, this wonderful, lovable dog. A candle was lit in her memory.

My last Briard litter, the K-litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière, was born 20 years ago. It was Zabou's (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid) only litter, as she repeatedly failed to conceive due to mycoplasma, which she contracted during her first mating. It was all the more wonderful for me that it finally worked out once, and six beautiful puppies were raised. One female from this litter stayed with me – Courage (Kahlua de la Maison du Garde-Barrière).

Dyoma (Ch HR/SK/BIH/RS/SRB/ROM/HU GrCh BIH/SRB/ROM/SK Magic of Success DIAMOND) is celebrating his 5th birthday today. Happy birthday, little man! You're sure to be thoroughly spoiled today.
Eight years ago today, Steel (Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY, AOM) received his angel wings when he was unexpectedly taken from us. As every year, a candle burns for him again today.

It has been 20 years since Apollo (APOLLO de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I lit a candle for him.
